The old singles board has been replaced by your choice of the four most useful singles boards.

Jgreat.com and Jewish Soul Search are two good ways to start if you've never used one of these services before, because they're free - Jewish Soul Search has a premium membership with additional features, however.  The databases of both are small - but you can increase them each by one - but they're big enough to be useful if you're doing a full U.S. & Canada search.

Jmatch.com is a fast growing Jewish dating site that provides a single database linked to a substantial number of community sites.  Try Toronto, for a good example.  You may list for free and read & reply to emails from paying members (put your picture on if you want anyone to notice), or if you do pay, you may be assured that the recipient is capable of reading emails you send to her or him.  One quirk in the Jmatch.com search engine of which you should be aware is that if you search in Canadian area codes (such as 905 & 416) but list the country to be searched as USA you will get no results.

Jdate.com, which as of this writing still has the largest database, has unfortunately reduced its usefulness by recently changing to the opposite policy.  Nonpayers can list but not read their emails, and paying members who send emails will have their emails largely unread, since there's no way of distinguishing a paying from a nonpaying listing.

Jewishcafe.com has the most specific of the search engines, and provides a two week free trial with unlimited use.

Note that all these sites except Jgreat pay a commission to Jbuff.com for paying members.  All such commissions will be donated to local synagogues.
