NO SPECIAL THREATS TO JCCS, JEWISH BUILDINGS, SYNAGOGUES Posted by: Ellen Goldstein Posted on 3/27/03 Friends, We have received numerous calls in regard to a report on CNN that Israel embassies, consulates and Jewish Community Centers around the globe have been placed on "the highest state of alert" since the beginning of the war. The source of this information is a "senior Israeli official." The Jewish Council for Public Affairs in NYC immediately contacted representatives of the Anti-Defamation League who have been in touch with FBI and other law enforcement officials. According to the ADL, there is no new information to suggest that JCC's or Jewish institutions generally are under any more threat today than they were prior to the start of the war. As always, if such a heightened threat existed, law enforcement authorities would contact the affected institutions directly. Obviously, we are in a period that requires vigilance and prudence.
