On October 27, 2006, Alexandra Rosenfeld of France was elected Miss Europe at a beauty pageant in Kiev, Ukraine. This competition resembles our Miss America pageant and is held each year among the nations of Europe. Miss Europe became Miss France in  December 2005 as the 52^nd winner of that honor. She was born in Béziers, a town on the Mediterranean coast opposite Corsica. Now she is a tourism student. She was awarded 100,000 Euro, which is about $127,000, and a diamond studded crown worth 350,000 Euro.

This demonstrates that even in France there are those who are willing to let a Jewish girl win.

Unfortunately, in February of 2006, Ms. Rosenberg had to use her fame to participate in a demonstration and memorial service for another Jew, Ilan Halimi. The memorial was attended by President Jaques Chirac, the prime minister, Dominique de Villepin and other “dignitaries” who denounced the murder of Halimi by a gang of vicious Muslims who kidnapped the salesman and tortured him brutally for three weeks before releasing him into the street where he died.

Halimi had been seduced to meet a good looking woman who accosted him in a “chat room”. On meeting her, he was abducted on the 20^th of January by her Muslim friends and brought to an all Muslim neighborhood in Paris where a gang who called themselves “the barbarians” beat him, stuck him with knives, burned him with cigarettes and otherwise degraded and humiliated him. During these tortures the gang called his home and held a microphone to him so his family could hear him scream while they assaulted him. The torturers said later that “we put our cigarettes out on him and slit his throat because he was a Jew”.

After his death, the leader of the terror gang, Youssouf Fonfana, fled to Ivory Coast, an African country. He was extradited from there in March of ’06 and jailed in France. Since then, twenty one people have been arrested for this murder. Nineteen have been jailed. It now turns out that the entire Muslim neighborhood knew about this abduction and torture because some were invited by the gang to participate in the torture. Nobody reported this to the police. All kept silent. The brutal killer Fonfana claimed that he abducted Halimi because the Jews have money and would “get it at the synagogue” to get Ilan out. Meanwhile the French newspapers told the world about the murderers and torturers of Halimi. One goon is a professional jailer; another works in a school cafeteria; another is a locksmith and yet another a custodian.

Because France does not have a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) law as we do, each of the beasts who committed this crime will be tried separately. In this country, they could all be tried together.

Of course now, several of these barbarians have Jewish lawyers. You do believe that, don’t you? This happens here all the time. We Jews are insane. Can you imagine the reverse? Let us say a Jewish gang tortured a Muslim. Would a Muslim lawyer defend them? Of course not. In fact, no Jewish lawyer would defend such a Jew, either.

In addition to getting the help of Jewish lawyers, the Muslim community now complains that the Jews are making a big deal about nothing and that one may not even say the word Jew without getting into trouble. In short, the slaughter of Halimi is, you guessed it, the fault of the Jews themselves. This makes sense. After all, according to Muslims around the world,  the attack on the World Trade Center was organized by President Bush and carried out by the CIA who planted explosives in the WTC towers with the connivance of the Jews, who stayed home from work that day so that none were killed  (In truth, hundreds of Jews died there that day).

Our President, George W. Bush, understands that the assault on western civilization is a war which we cannot ignore. Not only in New York, in France and in England and Spain, but around the world, Muslims are killing and assaulting everyone everywhere from the Catholic Philippines to Muslim countries. Therefore we need to resist and not appease these Islamofascists. This is a lesson not understood by the Democrats, ignored by the Jewish community and denied by the appeasers.

Yet, all is not lost. Even in France, a Jewish girl was picked to represent her country in an international competition despite the anti-Jewish garbage which appeared on the French web sites as soon as her name was announced.

There are, then, in France, some who support the right of Jews to be here. There are others who seek our destruction. The outcome of this struggle may well depend on what we in this country do about it in the next few years. Therefore we are fortunate to have a President who recognizes this danger, who knows that the Jews are “the canary in the coal mine” and who is willing to enlist those who remember what happened to the Jews of the 1930’s and 1940’s because of the cowards who appeased Hitler for years.

Recently, 80% of Jewish voters voted for the Democrats. They did so because of “culture lag”. That means that some of us do the same thing over and over because we did it before, no matter what the new circumstances. No doubt, if the Democrats pick the Grand Klegle of the Ku Klax Klan as their nominee for President in 2008, the Democrats would lose. Except, of course, that 80% of the Jewish voters would vote for him. After, all, we always vote Democrat.

In the 1920’s, shortly before the catastrophe engulfed the European Jews, Zeev Yabotinsky traveled throughout Europe and warned the Jews as Herzl had done before him. It did him no good. The Jews would not listen.  Read Night  by Elie Wiesel. He tells the story of a Polish Jew who came to Wiesel’s home town in Hungary and told the Jews that the Germans were murdering Jews by the millions in Poland and Russia. Hungary had not been invaded yet. The Jews would not listen. They viewed the warning as an exaggeration. Two weeks later, says Wiesel, the Germans came. All Jews in his home town were deported.

No, we do not face that possibility in this country. But Israel does. Therefore, the current constellation in our congress looks ominous. The new speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, refused to sign a non-binding resolution supporting Israel in its recent war with Hamas and Hizbollah. Cynthia McKinney, another Democrat from Georgia who was defeated in the Democratic primary, regularly introduces resolutions in Congress demanding that support for Israel be ended. The current Ambassador to the United Nations, a great supporter of Israel, will not be approved by the newly elected Senate.

Indeed, there are now thirteen Jewish Senators and 30 Jewish Representatives. That means little as there are 405 Representatives and 87 Senators who are not Jewish.

Therefore, the least we can do is write and contact our members of Congress, even the one who kissed Mrs. Arafat (Hillary) for claiming that the Israelis poison the drinking water with radioactive material, and demand support for Israel. Surely, those Jews who are so enthusiastic about the fortunes of the Democrats can find time to say at least one word to help their fellow Jews. That’s true, isn’t it?
