Hatred of the Elderly

Commentary by Dr. Gerhard Falk

Old Age in America

One distinction we Americans have among the nations is that we despise old age.  The phrase old age is also attributed to all holocaust survivors, since the mass murder of the European Jews ended in 1945 so that all survivors must be of an old age today. According to majority public opinion in the United States, old people have these characteristics. All old people are:

Disgusting, revolting, ugly, stupid, boring, worthy of contempt, malicious, greedy, selfish, belligerent, worthless morons, demented, sick, dirty, superstitious, drunk, mentally ill, incompetent, fat, cripples, candidates for the undertaker.

Not all nations treat the old in the American way. There are cultures who designate one day a year as a Senior Citizen Day, on which the old are honored. There are also some Americans who honor their parents and grandparents according to the Jewish admonition “Honor Your Father and Your Mother…” This is the Fifth Commandment according to the Torah, unfortunately not known to any other religion.

On the contrary, Islam teaches that all Jews should be murdered, a proposal also aimed at religions other than Judaism.

This use of religion as a means of killing others was already known to Tacitus (99 – 55 BC) when he wrote in his book De Rerum Natura “Tantum Religio protuit suadere Malorum.”

Shalom u'vracha.
