Not Loving Your Neighbor

Rejection, Insult, and Contempt

Crime in America

Recently, Audrey Hale, a former student at a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, entered her former school armed with an assault rifle and two handguns. She shot and killed three adults and three nine year old children. The police arrived within fourteen minutes and killed her.

We now learn that Democrats and other so called “liberals” call Hale the victim of these murders, ignoring the lives of those she murdered and the nightmare she caused the relatives and the parents of three little children.

The defenders of Hale claim that she is the real victim of these murders because she believed she was a man and therefore was harassed and rejected by the 99.8% of Americans who are not of the opinion that a biological woman is a man. The callous disregard of the parents of three little children, and the utter cruelty of blaming the dead adults whose families suffer the loss of their loved ones, is an indication of how so called “liberals” have decided that they are entitled to any brutality, any crime, any murder, any cruelty, on the grounds that they are “transgender,” a term which contradicts nature and supports violence of any kind.

The utter disregard for the rights and feelings of others is not limited to the victims of the so called “liberals,” whose crimes on the streets of our major cities are excused by Democrat prosecutors who will not prosecute murder, rape, assault, robbery, burglary, larceny, auto theft, and arson as long as it is committed by a Democrat. Republicans and other “conservatives” are indicted by the same prosecutors because of some papers they took home, or because they made a mistake on an account book. There now are all kinds of “justice” in America. One for Democrats, who can literally get away with murder, and another for Republicans, who are prosecuted for speaking. Freedom of speech, the very foundation of freedom, has already been eradicated, as has justice, which jails innocent Republicans and lets violent Democrats like Hale go free (not Hale herself, but others like her).

As our elevation of criminals progressed, the conduct of Americans toward the old in America has declined as well. The connection lies in the widespread attitude that old age is a crime, which is punished by  incarceration in so called nursing homes. These nursing homes do not nurse nor are they homes. Nursing homes and “assisted living” facilities are money making institutions for the owners of these prisons, who charge the inmates up to $100,000 a year.  On television, these so called homes are  depicted as friendly and enjoyable residences for old “grandpa” or “grandma,” people who have no names and no identities other than their age. Treated like nonpersons in these penitentiaries for the crime of old age, those who are not yet  incarcerated (Latin and German “Kerker”) are nevertheless held in the contempt which old age deserves. While the Torah teaches us “you shall rise before the white head,” and “you shall respect the wrinkled face,” etc., old age outside of nursing homes is also met with anger and disregard of the old age offenders who have the nerve to seek inclusion in the conversation or who will not accept the status of a nonperson. The term nonperson was invented by the Stalin era communists in Russia where it was applied to anyone who acted out of step with the brutal dictatorship still in force in that country.

Believe it or not, there are countries that respect old age. There are countries whose old people are honored by an annual legal holiday. There are societies which do not know anything about the biblical admonitions concerning the old among us. Yet, these societies treat old mothers and fathers with love and kindness, as depicted in our book (Ursula and Gerhard Falk’s book Aging in America and other Cultures).

Social life among humans is not segregated into segments concerning some but not others. In a society which praises murderous criminals and refuses to penalize violent offenders, it is evident that the abandonment of those least able to  help themselves is commonly practiced by those who do not love their neighbor as themselves but love only themselves. A society in turmoil must inevitably follow.

Shalom u'vracha.
