Roosevelt & Jews |
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882 - 1945) Franklin Roosevelt was the only president of the United States elected more than twice. In fact, Roosevelt was elected four times - in 1932, 1936, 1940 and 1944. The overwhelming number of Jewish voters at that time voted for Roosevelt, in 1932 at a ratio of 3.5 to 1. In the subsequent three elections Roosevelt received 90% of the Jewish vote each time. Anyone not acquainted with the
American Jewish community would therefore assume that Roosevelt must have been a
great friend of the Jews and one who would be concerned with the needs of the
Jewish people worldwide. The
same observer would therefore be astounded to find that Roosevelt was in fact
one of the most malicious antagonists of the Jewish people. Here is the record: In
1921, long before Roosevelt became president, Congress limited the number of
immigrants allowed into the United States each year. This was the first time in
American history that such limits had been placed on European immigrants,
although the Chinese Exclusion Act dated from 1882. According
to that immigration law, the number of immigrants allowed into the country each
year was to be no more than 3% of those of the same national origin already in
this country as of 1910. Since hardly any eastern or southern Europeans were in
the U.S.A. in 1910, the quota system heavily favored western Europeans so as to
keep Catholics and Jews out of this country, as almost all Catholics and Jews
lived in eastern and southern Europe. The total number of immigrants allowed to
enter the U.S. was then 357,000 per year. In 1924 this number was lowered to
165,000 and in 1929 it was restricted to 154,000, of which the quota for Germans
was 25,957. This
law was in effect when the Nazi party became the government of Germany in 1933.
In view of the well known persecution of German Jews that began at once in
January of 1933, thousands of German Jews sought to escape Hitler, especially
after the horrendous events of November 9-10, 1938, when the Germans burned
every synagogue in their country and in Austria and Jews were being murdered in
the streets. At
that time Roosevelt appointed his personal friend, Breckenridge Long, to be
Assistant Secretary of State for Immigration. Long, under Roosevelt’s
direction, issued a memo to all American consulates in Germany to reduce the
number of visas allowed German, i.e. Jewish, immigrants to 10% of the quota
permitted by the law. That meant that only 4,705 German Jews were allowed into
this country each year from 1933 through 1941, when all immigration ceased as
the U.S. entered the 2nd World War. There were somewhat more than
500,000 Jews in Germany in 1933. Hence, in those nine years when the quota
system would have allowed 26,000 immigrants from Germany to come here each year,
only 42,300 German Jews were rescued when 234 thousand could have been saved. Franklin
Roosevelt also opposed opening refugee camps in North Africa, and in June 1939
refused to let 900 Jewish refugees from Germany land in Florida from the ship
St. Louis after the Cuban government would not allow the refugees to land
despite their valid immigration visas. The ship returned to Europe, where a
little under half of the Jews on the ship were subsequently murdered. It
was suggested to Franklin Roosevelt that the American air force bomb the rail
lines leading to the Auschwitz crematoria. Roosevelt refused to allow this, as
he wanted more Jews to die. He also delayed the freeing of Nazi prison camps in
the Netherlands after the U.S. Army had invaded Europe, as he wanted more Jews
to die. Roosevelt
was also a firm opponent of the Zionist movement. He deliberately sent two well
known Jew baiters as American emissaries to the Holy Land to pacify the Arabs and
assure them that the United States would never support the creation of a Jewish
state. These haters were Harold Hoskins and Patrick Hurley, who both subscribed
to the psychotic claims that “the Jews” want to control the world, etc. In
January of 1943, Franklin Roosevelt went to Casablanca, Morocco, in North
Africa, where he met with Winston Churchill and other “world leaders”. There
he told the conference that he found it understandable that the Germans
persecuted Jews, as there were too many Jewish doctors, lawyers and professors
in Germany. Yet,
the American Jewish voters supported this enemy of the Jewish people again and
again. Today
we see the same phenomenon. The current president, well known for his antagonism
to Israel, received 78% of the Jewish vote. After only 6 months in office he has
dictated that no Jew must be allowed to increase his living space or add so much
as a front porch to his house in Judea and Samaria. He let it be known that
“this is no longer a Christian nation” as he also claimed that the U.S. is
one of the largest Muslim countries on earth. Meanwhile he threatens Israel
while excusing the Iranian atomic bomb efforts, even as he refuses Israel
permission to fly over Iraqi airspace to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities
aimed at the destruction of Israel. Yet,
once more, Jews in great numbers support that anti-Jewish agenda. We denounce
our friends and cannot do enough for our enemies. Consider
this: twice as many Democrats as Republicans blame the Jews for the current
economic crisis. Only a minority of Democrats but almost all Republicans support
the right of Israel to defend itself against Arab attacks, and fully one third
of Afro Americans seek the destruction of Israel even as Jews cannot do enough
for them. Democrats
are seldom supportive of Israel and evidently have never met a dictator they did
not love. Yet the Jews vote for their own destruction. Strange,
isn’t it? Shalom u’vracha. Dr. Gerhard Falk is the author of numerous publications, including Women & Social Change in America (2009). |
